5 Best Opponents For Roman Reigns After WrestleMania 38

Last Updated on April 1, 2024 by Avik Das

WrestleMania 38 main event of Night 2 was the long-awaited match between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. It was a title unification match, making it a first-time world title unification match in WrestleMania history. Roman Reigns entered the match as the Universal Champion, while Brock Lesnar entered the match as the WWE Champion. It was certainly long-term storytelling from WWE. Since Lesnar’s return, he was after Roman Reigns, confronting the Tribal Chief at SummerSlam 2021. He later won the Royal Rumble 2022 and the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber 2022 to set up the heavyweight clash.

Following a fair loss to Roman Reigns at the WrestleMania 38 main event, the feud should be done and dusted. The new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns would be looking for a challenger for his gold. Both on SmackDown and RAW rosters, some talented names could emerge as a new threat for the Tribal Chief of WWE.

# 5 Kevin Owens

After a big battle with Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kevin Owens currently has huge momentum. He was also in the WrestleMania 38 main event, making it his first WrestleMania main event. Although he lost the bout after a hard-fought battle, Owens certainly made a mark. It might be the right time to push him into the main event scene once again.

Owens has won the Universal Championship once in his career, which is his only world title in WWE. But he could headline shows and become a top star once again. With that in mind, he can be an ideal challenger to go after the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship of Roman Reigns. However, Kevin Owens is currently a heel, and he would have to turn a babyface to feud with Roman Reigns since the latter is a bad guy at the moment. Owens and Reigns faced each other numerous times before, and they could produce another spectacular rivalry.

# 4 Riddle

Riddle has done a remarkable job as one-half of RKBRO. With Randy Orton as his tag team partner, Riddle has been dominating the tag team division for a while, winning the RAW Tag Team Championship. Following a great run as a tag team, it might be the time to push him as a singles star because he is certainly capable of becoming a singles star.

Riddle is over and needless to say, The Original Bro is one of the popular names of the red brand at the moment. Riddle has a goofy gimmick, and he has a lot of charisma. On the other hand, his mic skill is good, and he is exceptional in the ring to deliver awe-inspiring matches regularly. As a singles star in NXT, Riddle had a fair share of success, even though he didn’t win the NXT Championship. If he goes after Roman, he can be a big threat. Furthermore, Riddle is a babyface at the moment.

# 3 Bobby Lashley

Bobby Lashley has been a primary name on the WWE roster for a while, winning the WWE Championship twice in his career. Needless to say, he has become the main event-level star in his current run. The Almighty has featured in some big matches and headlined some big shows in recent years. While he wasn’t in main event of WrestleMania, he still featured in the show against Omos and won the match.

Lashley is currently having a feud with Omos, but he can be a credible opponent for Roman Reigns. Being two heavyweights, Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley can produce awesome matches and a rivalry.

# 2 Randy Orton

While Randy Orton has been a main event-level Superstar for the majority of his career, it has not been the case for the past few years. Obviously, The Viper isn’t in his prime anymore, and he is over 40 years old, having wrestled for two decades in WWE. Nevertheless, he is still one of the popular wrestlers on the roster, and he can easily enter the main event scene once again.

Randy Orton is a fourteen-time WWE Champion, with his last title run taking place in 2020. Orton is still athletic to deliver spectacular matches, and he certainly deserves another solo run with the WWE Championship. Moreover, Orton is a babyface, so he can feud with a heel like Roman Reigns at the moment.

# 1 Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre is a former two-time WWE Champion, and he is certainly the most deserving name to get a world title shot. In the pandemic era, Drew McIntyre carried WWE shows, and he was the WWE Champion back then. The Scottish Warrior ended up winning the WWE Championship twice in his career.

Despite his impressive resume, Drew McIntyre has been out of WWE Championship for a while. He had a singles match with Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 38. After being done and dusted with Baron Corbin, McIntyre should set his sight on a bigger picture, and there would be no better way than going after the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns. A feud between babyface Drew McIntyre and heel Roman Reigns could continue till SummerSlam 2022.
