Sachin Tendulkar is regarded as the greatest batsman of the modern era, and he is the of the most influential sportsmen to play the gentlemen’s game. After starting his Cricket career in 1989, he never looked back, and he finally hung up his boots in 2013, making it a career of over two decades. 


The Indian legend holds almost every batting record in Intercontinental Cricket. It’s widely known that he is the highest run-getter in Intercontinental Cricket, both in One Day Internationals and Test Cricket. He also holds the record of most centuries, as he has a century of centuries. The same also applies to his half-centuries. Needless to say, his records are totally untouchable, and they are unlikely to be broken anytime soon or ever. Nonetheless, there are also some records of Sachin Tendulkar that are probably not as widely remembered as these known records.

#5 Sachin Tendulkar has 200 International Wickets 


While it is not a record, but it is certainly an interesting stat. Tendulkar was known as the God of batting, but his bowling record wasn’t bad either. As a matter of fact, he was a part-time bowler for India, both in Test Cricket and ODI. Sachin was basically a leg-break bowler who would also bowl off-break deliveries occasionally. In the early days of his Cricket career, he was used frequently as a bowler, and he would even surpass regular bowlers on good days. It might be hard to believe that Sachin Tendulkar took 200 International wickets in his glorious career. While he scalped 154 wickets in ODI, he also took 46 wickets in red ball Cricket. Tendulkar also grabbed fifer twice in his career. 

#4 Highest Number Of Consecutive Matches For The India Cricket Team 

With two decades of an outstanding career, Sachin was quite consistent to feature in the Indian team, which also showed the fitness level he maintained throughout his career. The right-handed batsman was the backbone of the Indian batting in the 1990s, and he couldn’t afford to take a break or rest. Consequently, Sachin featured in the most number of consecutive matches for the national team. From 1990 to 1998, Sachin Tendulkar didn’t miss a single match for India. While he played 185 ODI match, he was part of 54 Test matches in this time frame, making it 239 back to back International matches while representing the Indian team.

#3 Most Number Of Boundaries ( 4076+)

Sachin Tendulkar has played so many games in his twenty-four-year-old length Cricket career and hence, it’s no surprise that he has the most number boundaries in Cricket. Combining his records from Test, ODI, and T20, the Master Blaster’s boundary hitting record is simply unmatchable. Playing a total of 664 International matches, Sachin Tendulkar has amassed over 4076 fours in his career, which is awe-inspiring. The former Srilankan southpaw Kumar Sangakkara is in the second spot. He has hit 3015 boundaries in his career, which significantly less than Tendulkar’s boundary numbers.

Sachin Tendulkar’s long Cricket career allowed him to play all over the world for over two decades. Whether touring England, Australia, South Africa, West Indies, New Zealand, Pakistan or playing in his home, India, Tendulkar had scored runs in every part of the world. Also, he scored tons in every major Cricket playing country, which was a remarkable record. Having played in so many countries in newer or iconic stadiums, Tendulkar holds the record of playing in the most number of stadiums in International Cricket. The legendary batsman has graced the field in more than 90 different Cricket stadiums all around the globe. Moreover, he has played big innings in every iconic Cricket stadium such as Eden Gardens, Lords, MCG etc. 

#1 Sachin Tendulkar Has Most Number Of Runs In ODI World Cup Tournament 

With twenty-four years of Cricket career, enabled Sachin Tendulkar to play a record six World Cup tournaments. While his first-ever Cricket World Cup was in 1992, he further played the mega event in 1996, 1999, 2003, 2007, and finally in 2011. Incidentally, after five failed attempts to lift the prestigious trophy, the batting legend managed to win the cup in his home ground in Mumbai, India. 
Playing a total of 46 ODI World Cup matches, the Master Blaster scored a staggering 2278 runs with an impressive average of 56.95 and a strike rate of 88.98. His highest score in the marque event was 152 against Namibia in 2003. While maintaining an average of over fifty, Sachin Tendulkar scored over 15 half-centuries in this tournament and six half-centuries. He was the highest run-scorer of the tournament in the 2003 Cricket World Cup. Needless to say, the legendary batter was a man of big occasions.
