SummerSlam 2023, the biggest party of the summer for the wrestling community,  is around the corner. The mega show is set to be held in Detroit,  Michigan on August 5, 2023. The anticipation is high since it is the second biggest pay-per-view of WWE after WrestleMania. Similar to the Show of Shows,  SummerSlam usually garners a high level of mainstream attention, with many casual fans tuning in to watch the event.

Over the past couple of months, WWE has built some engaging storylines that are going to culminate at SummerSlam 2023. Logan Paul, who has become a special attraction for the company, is set to collide with Ricochet. Long-term friends turned rivals Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler will clash as well. Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar will take on each other for the third time,  while Seth Rollins will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor.  Asuka has a herculean task of defending the Women’s Title against Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair. On the other hand,  Gunther and Roman Reigns will defend their respective titles against Drew McIntyre and Jey Uso. Many twists and turns are expected to happen at SummerSlam 2023.

 5.  Cody Rhodes Conquers The Beast

Cody Rhodes failed to finish the story at WrestleMania 39. Even though he is on a different track, the story is still alive for the Royal Rumble 2023 winner. He faces the wrath of The Beast Incarnate at the biggest party of the summer,  and it is their third encounter with both men winning one match each.

Last time,  Cody had a kayfabe arm injury, making it easier for Brock Lesnar to overpower The American Nightmare.  However, the situation is different now,  as Cody is without any injury. They are likely to have an intense and physical match.  Keeping Cody’s push in mind, he is the favorite to win the big battle, and beating Lesnar twice is a big surprise as well as an achievement.

 4. Charlotte Flair Wins Her 15th Women’s Championship

Charlotte Flair getting a title shot isn’t a new scenario, especially at big events.  The Queen is also a huge attraction,  which is a reason for her opportunities in the title picture. Right after her return to the ring,  Charlotte received a title shot at SummerSlam 2023.

With Bianca Belair in the feud, The EST of WWE was added to the title match as well.  The match is predicted to steal the show for having three prolific performers. But Charlotte is a big-match player, having experience in winning big battles. Bianca already enjoyed a lengthy title run,  and she is dubious of getting another one. Asuka’s title run has been stale. Charlotte would be determined to make win his 15th Women’s World Championship.

 3. Gunther Loses The Intercontinental Championship

While we talk about Roman Reigns’ historical title reign of the era,  Gunther,  the current Intercontinental Champion,  has enjoyed an equally impressive run lasting over 400 days, making it the longest run with the title in this era. The Ring General has been dominant, and he has decimated many credible opponents.

A big challenge lies ahead for him at SummerSlam 2023, where he will take on Drew McIntyre, a two-time WWE Champion. McIntyre failed to get the job done at WrestleMania 39. Moreover, the recent rumor of him not being happy with his booking and his coming back to ring assures he is going to get better treatment this time. Hence, The Scottish Warrior could surprise fans by besting The Ring General.

 2. Damian Priest Cashes In The Money In The Bank Contract

There is a crack in Judgement Day, with Finn Balor and Damian Priest showing dissonance for the past few weeks. Sooner or later the brotherhood between them is likely to break. Finn Balor is set to challenge the World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, taking us seven years ago when the two wrestlers collided in the maiden Universal Championship match.

Even though it’s hard to pick a winner, Finn Balor would have an advantage with Judgement Day on his side. Regardless of the winner, we can expect a cash-in at the Biggest Party of the Summer. If Seth wins,  Damian will have an easy cash-in.  On the other hand, if Finn wins and Damian cashes in the contract,  it will embark on a whole new feud within Judgement Day.

 1. Solo Sikoa Betrays Roman Reigns & Jey Uso Becomes The New Tribal Chief

The Bloodline civil war has ignited a fire within WWE, and it has garnered a lot of interest from the fans.  Jey Uso did the impossible at Money In The Bank by pinning Roman Reigns in a tag team match.  Consequently,  he is the next WWE Undisputed Championship challenger at SummerSlam 2023.

With just Solo Sikoa by his side, Roman Reigns’ numbers game has diminished.  He has also looked emotional at times since the start of the Bloodline Civil War. After Solo Sikoa has shown signs of turning on Roman, the chance of her betraying The Tribal Chief is likely. The brotherhood of The Usos and Solo Sikoa might be too much to handle for the champion,  and he might finally get dethroned by Jey Uso at SummerSlam 2023.
