Last Updated on April 2, 2024 by Avik Das

The long-waited Money in the Bank pay-per-view took place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Nevada. Even though there wasn’t any world title match, the United States Championship was defended as well as the Women’s Championships of both brands. Not to mention PPV consisted of two ladder matches of both men’s division and the women’s division.

Money in the Bank 2022 had seven matches in total. Big names such as Ronda Rousey, Bianca Belair, Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Becky Lynch, and many more featured on the show. Overall, it was a great show, as all the matches of PPV reached expectations and had a couple of surprises. Without further adieu, let’s take a look at Results.

Liv Morgan won the women’s Money in the Bank briefcase

Seven women from RAW and SmackDown face off in a women’s Money in the Bank ladder match to crown the Miss Money in the Bank. After struggling for a while in the women’s division, WWE finally pulled the trigger with Liv Morgan, who won the women’s Money in the Bank match, making it her major accomplishment. However, it looked like Becky Lynch would have stolen the show, but Liv balanced her ladder by bouncing from the ropes and knocking out Lynch to win the briefcase for the first time in her career.

Bobby Lashley defeated Theory to win the United States Championship

Bobby Lashley clashed with Theory in the singles match, where the latter kept the United States Championship on the line. It was a decent match. It was a physical contest. Theory startled Lashley when he connected a Spear to the latter for near fall. Following a battle of 11 minutes, Theory submitted to a Hart Lock, while Lashley won his third United States Championship.

Bianca Belair defeated Carmella to retain the RAW Women’s Championship

The RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair encountered Carmella. Although it was a match of seven minutes, Carmella gave EST a run for her money. A Superkick from Carmella rocked Belair that could have ended her title reign. But Bianca showed valor and connected a KOD to retain the RAW Women’s Title.

The Usos defeated The Street Profits to retain the Unified Tag Team Titles

The Usos and The Street Profits have been feuding for a while, having each other in singles matches on SmackDown. The two teams collided at Money in the Bank PPV in Las Vegas, and they ended up delivering on the best matches of the night. It wouldn’t be wrong to place it among one of the best tag team matches of the year. There were several close calls in the match. When Ford connected a picture-perfect Frog Splash from the ‘heaven’, the fans, as well as The Street Profits, thought they had it, but it was surprisingly kicked out. The fans chanted ‘this is awesome’ during the match because the tag team match certainly exceeded all expectations. Even The Usos had the last laugh, the shoulder of Angelo Dawkins was up during the pinfall, making it a controversial win.

Ronda Rousey defeated Natalya to retain the SmackDown Women’s Championship

After a heated build-up, Ronda Rousey and Natalya locked horns in the squared circle. Nattie’s experience came to play as she dominated the first half of the match, including putting Rousey in a Sharpshooter. As expected there were multiple Submission attempts from both women. While Rousey even attempted a Sharpshooter, Natalya tried Arm Bar. After a battle of twelve minutes, Rousey submitted Natalya to a vicious Arm Bar.

Liv Morgan cashed in the Money in the Bank contract to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship

Right after Ronda’s victory, Liv Morgan’s music hit, and she ran towards the ring with the Money in the Bank briefcase. As Ronda was already exhausted and was struggling to walk following Natalya’s Sharpshooters, Liv took advantage and pinned the Baddest Woman in the Planet to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Theory Won The Men’s Money in the Bank match

Theory wasn’t originally in the men’s match, as he defended the United States Championship against Bobby Lashley earlier that night. But after losing the gold, he was added to the match by Adam Pearce, who made the announcement. The men’s Money in the Bank match was arguably the match of the night with a lot of crazy moves. From Riddle, Sami Zayn, and Sheamus to Drew McIntyre, all these Superstars came close to winning the briefcase, but Theory had the last laugh after climbing the top of the ladder at the end.
