An Overview Of WWE RAW’s Results This Week (September 25, 2023)

Last Updated on April 4, 2024 by Avik Das

We, Sportsheed,  welcome you to the recap and results of this week’s edition of the red brand in Ontario,  California. With football games impacting RAW ratings negatively in the past few weeks, WWE lined up a number of segments beforehand, creating an interest in the viewers.

The Judgement Day members defended their titles on WWE RAW, except Rhea Ripley.  While Dominik Mysterio, the North American Champion, faced Dragon Lee,  the Tag Team Champions,  Finn Balor and Damian Priest took on Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. Without further adieu, let’s take a look at the results of the red brand this week.

Cody Rhodes’ Opening Segment

Cody Rhodes being the biggest babyface of RAW right now, often opens or closes shows. The American Nightmare talked about Judgment Day and how evil they were, before getting interrupted by the stable. As expected, Judgement Day contemplated an attack,  but Jey Uso came to Rhodes’ aid followed by Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.  The segment ended with the baby faces standing tall,  and it was a great way to open the show.

Bronson Reed Defeated Otis

Not every day you see men over three hundred pounds collide in a WWE ring,  especially in the current generation. But the match between Bronson Reed and Otis was an example of two huge guys wrestling in the ring on an episode of RAW. The match was decent and fast-paced,  considering the size of both men.  As soon as Reed connected a Tsunami, he picked up the victory.

Ciampa Defeated Ludwig Kaiser

Cimpa’s involvement in the Intercontinental Championship picture has been entertaining due to his proficiency as a wrestler and experience. While Ciampa has his eyes on the gold,  the Ring General wouldn’t give a title shot unless he rightfully earns it.  To prove his worth as a challenger, Ciampa faced Ludwig Kaiser this week.  With two technically gifted wrestlers colliding, the match was brilliant,  but Ciampa had the last laugh,  proving him a potential challenger for the gold.

Tegan Nox Defeated Natalya

Tegan Nox hasn’t been doing much on TV since her return last year. However, on this week’s WWE RAW results, she had a match against the veteran, Natalya. With both Tegan Nox and Natalya hoping to be the next challengers of Becky Lynch, the current NXT Women’s Champion,  this match was a deciding factor in granting the worthy challenger.  Even though Nattie is much senior to Tegan,  the latter has years of experience as a wrestler, so the match was good.  A perfect Shiniest Wizard from Nox secured the victory,  hinting at her as the next woman in the line for The Man.

A Lastman Standing Match Was Confirmed Between Seth Rollins & Shinsuke Nakamura

The last time Shinsuke Nakamura received a title opportunity against Seth Rollins,  he squandered after a hard-fought battle.  The World Heavyweight Champion,  however,  decided to give another chance to The Artist, this time at Fastlane. Nakamura confirmed the match, adding the Last Man Standing stipulation.  These two men are likely to steal the show at WWE Fastlane.

Dominik Mysterio Defeated Dragon Lee To Retain The North American Championship

As advertised before, Dominik Mysterio was set to defend the North American Title against Dragon Lee.  With their previous match taking place in NXT,  they weren’t strangers to each other. However, Dom Dom didn’t have Mami in the ringside this time.  Fortunately,  it didn’t make much difference, as Dirty Dom showed that he was competent to defend his title on his own.  The match was probably one of the best matches on the show because the fans loved it with loud chants. Dom Dom toiled hard but managed to overcome the high flyer.

Nia Jax Defeated Zoey Stark

Nia Jax announced her return by attacking Rhea Ripley.  On this week’s WWE RAW,  The Irresistible Force faced Zoey Stark,  who had great momentum following her feud with Becky Lynch and association with WWE Hall of Famer, Trish Stratus. The match was below average, and Nia Jax had a comfortable win.

Drew McIntyre Defeated Kofi Kingston

Drew McIntyre showed a glimpse of turning heel last week when he refused to save Jey Uso from the attack of The Judgement Day.  Kofi Kingston derided The Scottish Warrior’s decision, setting up a one-on-one match. Their chemistry, athleticism, and years of experience made it a fun match to watch. Nevertheless, the match had a weak ending, as Kofi got distracted by Viking Raider’s attack on Xavier Woods. That distraction allowed a vicious Claymore to secure the win.

The Judgement Day Defeated Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and Damian Priest took on Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens for the Undisputed Tag Team Championship match in the main event of the night. Having previously wrestled,  this match also lived up to expectations. The climax of the match involved a lot of drama with interruptions from Dominik Mysterio, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso,  and JD McDonagh.  The good guys and the bad guys had a massive brawl,  but the champions had the last laugh to end the show.
